Learning outcomes
PLO 1. Communicate freely on professional issues with experts and non- experts in Ukrainian, German and English, in oral and in written form, use these languages to organize effective cross-cultural communication. PLO 9. Characterize dialect and social varieties of German language, describe the sociolinguistic situation. PLO 10. Know the rules of standard language and be able to apply them in practice. PLO 11. Know the principles, technologies and techniques of oral and written texts of different genres and styles creation in Ukrainian, German and English. PLO 14. Use German and English in oral and written form, in different genre-stylistic varieties and registers of communication (official, unofficial, neutral), to solve communicative tasks in everyday, social, educational, professional, scientific spheres of life. PLO 27.1. Demonstrate proficiency in contemporary variants and registers of the German language.

Prerequisites and co-requisites
To have a level B1 proficiency in the German language and possess basic theoretical knowledge in the disciplines of "Comparative Lexicology" and "Practice of Written and Oral Translation."
Course content
The academic discipline "German Language in the Aspect of Intercultural Communication" is an integral part of the educational-professional program for the qualification level of "Bachelor." This discipline is an elective course for students and belongs to the cycle of professional and practical training in the Curriculum for the preparation of specialists with higher education in the day-time form of study within the specialization of "Translation in Intercultural Communication." It is taught in the 5th and 6th semesters, with a total duration of 240 hours, including 114 hours of practical (classroom) sessions and 126 hours of self-study. The teaching of the discipline includes 6 content modules and concludes with a final assessment. The discipline aims to develop acquired skills in all types of language activities, including listening, speaking, reading, and writing. The program encompasses a comprehensive and integrated approach to teaching German, where all language aspects are studied in parallel. For example, while developing grammar skills, spelling and writing techniques are also reinforced, and during the development of speaking skills, students master phonetic, lexical, and grammatical norms of the German language. Language learning is conducted using materials related to everyday life, general knowledge, as well as country-specific and cultural topics. In the third year of study, the primary goal of the foreign language course is to develop students' foreign language communicative competence.

Assessment methods and criteria
- Semester assessment: Knowledge assessment is conducted using the ECTS system, which involves a two-level evaluation of the acquired material. It includes evaluating theoretical preparation - learning outcomes (knowledge 1.1 - 1.2), accounting for 40% of the total grade, and evaluating practical preparation - learning outcomes (skills 2.1 - 2.5), (communication 3.1-3.3), (autonomy and responsibility 4.1-4.3), accounting for 60% of the total grade. Semester work assessment: 1. Oral responses, contributions, participation in discussions during lectures and seminars, quick quizzes, tests: 25/45 points. 2. Presentation: 11/15 points (10 points for preparation + 5 points for defense).
