PLO 2. Effectively work with information: select the necessary information from various sources, in particular from specialized literature and electronic databases, critically analyze and interpret it, organize, classify and systematize it. PLO 7. Understand the main problems of philology and approaches to their solution using appropriate methods and innovative approaches. PLO 12. Analyze linguistic units, determine their interaction and characterize linguistic phenomena and processes that cause them. PLO 17. Collect, analyze, systematize and interpret the facts of language and speech and use them to solve complex problems and problems in specialized areas of professional activity and/or learning.

Full-time form

Possess elementary skills of analysis and interpretation of a separate language at all levels of its structure in accordance with the elementary programs of high school - phonetic, morphological, lexical, phraseological, syntactic, stylistic, taking into account the view of language as the most important means of human communication, an indispensable sign of ethnicity and nation; to teach their knowledge in perfect Ukrainian literary language.

The purpose of the discipline is to form students' knowledge of the basic provisions of the theory of language as a social and systemic-structural entity, to teach them to apply them in the analysis of specific linguistic phenomena in the languages of the world, to generalize and conceptually explain them in oral and written forms.

Methods: lecture, seminar class, independent work. Activities: quizzes, presentation, essay, review, test.

Final control form: exam According to the types of works, a student can score the following number of points: blitz survey; review; supplementing - from 2 to 3 points (6*3 = 18) essay - from 8 to 11 points (11) presentation - from 8 to 11 points (11) test work - from 7 to 10 points (10*2=20) Final assessment (exam) - 40 points.
