Learning outcomes
PRN 2. Effectively work with information: select the necessary information from various sources, in particular from specialized literature and electronic databases, critically analyze and interpret it, organize, classify and systematize it. PRN 7. Understand the main problems of Hindi philology and approaches to their solution using appropriate methods and innovative approaches. PRN 11. Know the principles, technologies and methods of creating oral and written texts of various genres and styles in national and foreign (Hindi and English) languages. PRN 14. To use Hindi and English in oral and written form, in different genre-stylistic varieties and registers of communication (official, unofficial, neutral), to solve communicative tasks in everyday, social, educational, professional, scientific spheres of life.

Prerequisites and co-requisites
1) successful mastery of the disciplines "Fundamentals of Linguistics", "Theory and Practice of Hindi Translation", "Practical Hindi Language Course", "Hindi Language Stylistics"; 2) knowledge of features of vocabulary and grammar obtained from a practical Hindi language course; 3) knowledge of basic translation transformations (from the course "Hindi Translation Theory".
Course content
The aim of the discipline is to acquaint students with the most important aspects of the range of problems related to the translation of popular scientific texts of the Hindi language; development and improvement of skills and abilities in the field of written and oral translation of popular scientific texts from Hindi to Ukrainian and vice versa.

Planned learning activities and teaching methods
Practical, independent work.
Lexical dictations, Oral answers, Written tasks / Test tasks, Modular control work.
Final assessment in the form of an exam: maximum number of points on the exam – 40 points; the minimum number of points (positive grade), which are added to the semester ones, is 24 points (60% of the maximum number of points allotted for the exam); the following learning outcomes are evaluated at the exam: RN 1.1-1.4; 2.1-2.2; the exam is conducted in written and oral form, the exam ticket consists of three parts: 1) written translation of an unfamiliar text from Hindi to Ukrainian (15 points); 2) written translation of an unfamiliar text from Ukrainian into Hindi (15 points); 3) reading and oral translation of an unfamiliar text from Hindi to Ukrainian (10 points); students who scored a total number of points less than the critical calculation minimum - 36 points are not allowed to take the exam.
Assessment methods and criteria
40-35 points – the student fully possesses the educational material, deeply and comprehensively reveals the content of the assigned task, correctly interprets the obtained results; 34-30 points – the student has a sufficient amount of educational material, teaches it freely, but may lack arguments in the explanations, reveals the content of the assigned task, insignificant inaccuracies are allowed; 29-24 points – the student generally possesses the educational material, but does not demonstrate the depth of knowledge, independence in solving the assigned tasks, does not rely on the necessary educational literature, the work contains significant inaccuracies; 23-1 point – the student does not fully master the material, explains it fragmentarily and superficially, does not sufficiently disclose the content of the questions; has significant errors in work; demonstrates lack of independence in performing tasks.
