Learning outcomes
PLO 8. To know and understand the language system, the general properties of literature as an art of speech, the history of the Hindi language and literature, and to be able to apply this knowledge in professional activities.
PLO 13. To analyze and interpret works of Ukrainian and Hindi fiction and oral folk art, determine their specificity and place in the literary process of India and Ukraine.
PLO 15. To carry out linguistic, literary and special philological analysis of Hindi texts of various styles and genres.
PLO 19. To have the skills to participate in scientific and applied research in the field of philology.
PLO 21. To apply knowledge of lingual country studies of India, history of relations between Ukraine and the countries of the East.

Successful mastering of the disciplines: “Introduction to Oriental Philology”, “Lingual Country Studies of the Oriental Languages”,“Oral and Ancient Eastern Literature”
Course content
The purpose of the discipline is to acquaint students with general theoretical issues related to the study of mythology, to provide an idea of the ancient Indian mythological system, and to form a holistic view of the myth phenomenon. The discipline belongs to the block of disciplines of the student's free choice and has a theoretical orientation.

Planned learning activities and teaching methods
Learning activities comprise interactive lectures and seminar classes. Students’ self-study involves preparation for oral responses, reports with the analyses of scientific literature, research presentation, precis, summaries.
Assessment methods and criteria
Semestral assessment is based on the oral responses, written assignments, presentations – 36/60 points, modular test papers – 12/20 points, final control paper – 12/20 points. The credit is given based on the results of the student’s work throughout the entire semester and does not require additional assessment measures. Students who scored 60 points, the required minimum, receive “passed”. Students who failed to score 60 points, the required minimum, receive “failed”. Those students who scored totally less than 60 points during the semester period should complete a test paper in the items which he/she failed to pass. Final score 60-100 – passed; 0-59 – failed.
