            Learning outcomes
        
        
            PLO 8. To know and understand the language system, the general properties of literature as an art of speech, the history of the Hindi language and literature, and to be able to apply this knowledge in professional activities.
PLO 13. To analyze and interpret works of Ukrainian and Hindi fiction and oral folk art, determine their specificity and place in the literary process of India and Ukraine.
PLO 15. To carry out linguistic, literary and special philological analysis of Hindi texts of various styles and genres. 
PLO 16. To know and understand the basic concepts, theories and concepts of the chosen philological specialization, to be able to apply it.
PLO 17. To collect, analyze, systematize and interpret the facts of language and speech and use them for solving complex problems in specialized fields of professional activity and/or education.

            Successful mastering of the professional disciplines "Oriental language: intermediate level", "Middle Eastern Literature"; mastering the skills of literary analysis of Hindi texts of religious and philosophical content.
        
    
            Course content
        
        
            The purpose of the discipline is to acquaint students with Sufism as a special religious and philosophical worldview, with the life and work of the leading representatives of Hindi Sufi literature, to give them an idea of the place of Hindi Sufi literature in the system of Indian literature and its connections with other literary traditions at various historical stages. The discipline belongs to the block of disciplines of the student's free choice and has a theoretical orientation.

            Planned learning activities and teaching methods
        
        
            Learning activities comprise interactive lectures and seminar classes. Students’ self-study involves preparation for oral responses, reports with the analyses of scientific literature, research presentation, precis, summaries, and completion of term paper.
        
    
            Assessment methods and criteria
        
        
            Semestral assessment is based on the oral responses, written assignments, reports and presentations – 36/60 points, modular test papers – 12/20 points, term paper – 12/20 points. The credit is given based on the results of the student’s work throughout the entire semester and does not require additional assessment measures. Students who scored 60 points, the required minimum, receive “passed”. Students who failed to score 60 points, the required minimum, receive “failed”. Those students who scored totally less than 60 points during the semester period should complete a test paper in the items which he/she failed to pass. Final score 60-100 – passed; 0-59 – failed.
