PLO 4. To understand the fundamental principles of being a person, nature, society. PLO 9. To characterize the dialectal and social varieties of the Hindi language, describe the sociolinguistic situation. PLO 21. To apply knowledge of lingual country studies of India, history of relations between Ukraine and the countries of the East.

Successful completion of a school course in world history and geography.
Course content
The purpose of the discipline is to acquaint students with the culture, history, geography, religion, life and customs of the Indian people; to ensure the formation of students' sociocultural competence, which consists of country studies and linguistic country studies competences. The discipline is a part of the complex discipline "Historical and Regional Studies" and has a theoretical direction.

Planned learning activities and teaching methods
Learning activities comprise interactive lectures and seminar classes. Self-study of the students involves preparation for oral responses, participation in discussions, reports with the analyses of scientific literature, research presentation, precis, summaries.
Assessment methods and criteria
Semestral assessment is based on: oral responses, written works, reports and presentations / precis – 24/40 points, modular control works – 12/20 points. Summarizing evaluation in the form of exam is max. 40 / min. 24 points (60% of minimum required quantity); the exam is conducted in written and oral forms, and proposes: 1) to answer two theoretical questions; 2) to take part in oral discussion of topics related to these issues. Students, who totally scored less than 36 points during the semester, may not participate in the exam.
