Learning outcomes
PRN2. Effectively work with Slavic information: select the necessary information from various sources, in particular from specialized literature and electronic databases, critically analyze and interpret it, organize, classify and systematize it. PRN8. To know and understand the language system, the general properties of literature as an art of speech, the history of the Croatian language and literature, and to be able to apply this knowledge in professional activities. PRN13. To analyze and interpret works of Ukrainian and Croatian fiction and oral folk art, to determine their specificity and place in the literary process. PRN15. Carry out linguistic, literary and Slavic philological analysis of texts of various styles and genres. PRN16. To know and understand the basic concepts, theories and concepts of Croatian linguistics and literary studies, to be able to apply them in professional activities.

Prerequisites and co-requisites
Conditions: Students must know the history of Ukrainian and world literature as part of the school curriculum, master the basics of the communicative aspect of the Croatian language, successfully master the subjects "Introduction to Literary Studies", "Introduction to Slavic Philology", "Foreign Literature", "Croatian Country Studies and Folklore" ".
Course content
1. The purpose of the academic discipline: to provide students with initial generalized, systematized information about the development of Croatian literature from the time of the first literary monuments to the 16th century, to form an understanding of the main trends of the Croatian literary process of the specified period, in the context of tradition and innovation, to trace the nationwide specifics of development Croatian literature in its relationships with European cultures; to acquaint students with the creative heritage of the most outstanding representatives of Croatian literature of the specified period; to develop skills in the analysis of artistic works of Croatian literature in the context of national and European poetics; to develop the skills of leading a literary discussion; to develop artistic thinking and speech culture, sense of the artistic word.

Planned learning activities and teaching methods
Lectures and practical classes, guidance of independent work and monitoring of its implementation, individual consultations, assessment.
Assessment methods and criteria
After the lectures, practical classes are held on relevant topics, on which the planned types of work and forms of control are assessed: oral response (max. 5), abstract/essay (max. 10), additions, participation in the discussion (max. 3), presentation ( max. 6), modular control work (max. 15). During the semester, written works are checked, individual consultations are held, and the level of assimilation of the material assigned for independent study is assessed. The final grade is assigned based on the results of the student's work during the semester and the oral answer on the exam. The minimum positive number of points to receive "credited" is 60 points.
