Learning outcomes
PLO1. Freely communicate on professional issues with specialists and non-specialists in state and foreign languages in oral and in written form, use them to organize effective intercultural communication. PLO 2. Process information effectively: collect relevant information from a variety of sources, including professional literature and electronic databases, critically analyze and interpret it, organize, classify and systematize it. PLO10. Know the norms of literary language and be able to apply them in practice. PLO11. Know the principles, technologies and methods of creating oral and written texts of various genres and styles in the state and Modern Greek/ English languages. PLO14. To use the Modern Greek and English languages in oral and written forms, in different genre-style varieties and registers of communication (official, informal, neutral), to solve communicative problems in everyday, social, educational, professional, scientific spheres of life.

Prerequisites and co-requisites
The student must successfully master the required philological disciplines for 1-4 semesters of study and, accordingly, know the New Greek language at the B1-B2 level, basic linguistic concepts, including translation studies, know the basic categories of translation transformations, identify variable translation possibilities within the previously studied material; be able to use lexicographical sources of the New Greek and Ukrainian languages, plan and evaluate their own work, use interactive and multimedia tools; have basic skills: producing oral and written messages in the New Greek and Ukrainian languages, critical attitude to the analyzed phenomena, using foreign language professional informative sources, interaction and cooperation in learning in situations of search and creative nature.
Course content
The normative academic discipline Practice of Translation from the New Greek Language for Intercultural Communication (4th semester) is a component of the cycle of professional training of specialists of the bachelors degree in translation for practical translation activities. The aim of the course is to develop students translation competence. During the practical classes, students should form an idea of the practical use of the theoretical foundations of translation studies, get acquainted with the translation of texts of different styles and genres, master the skills and abilities to translate equivalent oral and written texts into the New Greek language, apply various types of translation, practically master translation strategies and tactics, translation transformations and learn to analyze the reasons for their application within the material of the 4th semester of study.

Planned learning activities and teaching methods
The discipline is taught through such learning activities as oral answers and tests. Teaching methods used in the educational process include practical classes, creative and research tasks, and independent work.
Assessment methods and criteria
The form of final control is an exam. The semester grade is formed by the points obtained by the student in the process of mastering the material from the entire course. The total grade for the semester consists of the points received for class work (which synthesizes and independent work on processing the material to prepare for classroom classes: oral answers, supplements, tests, creative tasks). All types of work for the semester have a total of 60 points in the maximum dimension and 36 points in the minimum dimension. If a student scores less than 24 points in an exam (i.e., 60% of the 40 points allotted for the exam), they are not added to the semester grade, regardless of the number of points obtained during the semester.
