Prerequisites and co-requisites
1. Prior to taking this course, students should know the theoretical foundations of general linguistics, the characteristics of the historical development of the Turkish language, and Turkish grammar at the A1-2 level.
2. Be able to communicate in Turkish at A1-2 level; process foreign language sources, including Turkish-language ones; learn new information within the discipline; analyze the lexical composition of the first Turkic language with its further use in speech usage; characterize and evaluate linguistic phenomena in the context of different genres; plan and evaluate their own work; use interactive and multimedia tools.
3. Possess elementary skills of working with dictionaries; conducting scientific research; systematizing data obtained from various professional sources; critical attitude to the analyzed phenomena; use of foreign language resources.
Course content
The discipline "Turkish Language Lexicology" is an integral part of the Comprehensive Discipline General Theoretical Course of the Turkish Language (Part 1) and belongs to the list of compulsory disciplines taught in the fourth semester of the bachelor's degree - in accordance with the curriculum of the educational and scientific program "Turkish Language and Literature and Translation, English)". The course develops skills aimed at studying the lexical richness of the language: grouping words by meaning, stylistic diversity of Turkish words, origin of a lexical unit, time of creation. Students develop the ability to use the fundamental knowledge of lexicology to conduct their own research and write a paper on a given topic. Classes are held in the form of lectures and seminars. The discipline ends in the fourth semester with a term paper defense.

Assessment methods and criteria
Knowledge control is carried out according to the ECTS system, which provides for a two-level assessment of the material learned, in particular, an assessment of theoretical training, which accounts for 30% of the total grade, and an assessment of practical training, which accounts for 70% of the total grade.

1. Oral response to seminars: 12 - 20 points.
2. Additions, participation in the discussion: 2 - 4 points.
3. Blitz survey: 5 - 10 points.
4. Module test №1: 12 - 20 points.
5. Module test # 2: 12 - 20 points.
6. Research work / creative task: 3 - 6 points.
