PLO5. To cooperate with colleagues, representatives of other cultures and religions, supporters of different political views, etc. PLO6 Use information and communication technologies to solve complex specialized tasks and problems of professional activity. PLO11. To know the principles, technologies and methods of creating oral and written texts of various genres and styles in the state and foreign languages. PLO16. To know and understand the basic concepts, theories and concepts of the chosen philological specialization, to be able to apply them in professional activities. PLO17. To collect, analyze, systematize and interpret the facts of language and speech and use them to solve complex problems in specialized areas of professional activity and/or study.

Full-time form

- Successful mastery of Ukrainian and English at B2 level; - knowledge of the general features of the English language as an integral system; - possession of basic skills and abilities to analyze language in its systemic, structural and functional dimensions.

The course is designed to provide students with knowledge of the essence of translation and basic concepts of translation studies, peculiarities of translation of texts of different genres at different language levels. The applied nature of the course is related to the development of translation competence by developing practical skills in text processing and transformation in the process of translation from English into Ukrainian and from Ukrainian into English necessary for the implementation of further professional activities. This course is a basic discipline and consists of four modules.

Observations, module tests, oral questioning

Knowledge control is carried out according to the ECTS system, which provides for the assessment of the material learned, in particular, the assessment of theoretical training - learning outcomes, which accounts for 30% of the total grade, and the assessment of practical training, which accounts for 70% of the total grade. Assessment of semester work: 1. Oral answer at a practical lesson: 6 - 10 points. 2. Written assignment: 18 - 30 points. 3. Modular control work: 12 - 20 points.
