Know the scientific approaches to the periodization of the literary process, the views of modern
domestic and Serbian literary critics on literary trends, currents, styles,
genres, coverage of creative figures and individual works; development processes and
interdependence of current problems of Serbian literature, stages and milestones of formation
Serbian literary process from the beginning in ancient times: the first monuments
Serbian literature, iconic figures and works of Serbian medieval literature, in particular
era of the Nemanjic dynasty, the era of Despot Stefan Dusan, the development of Serbian literature under
Ottoman invasion to the XVII century.
have basic information on the oral folklore of the Serbs, the ancient Serbian
literature, navigate in modern approaches to the analysis of literary works.
Course content
The purpose of the discipline is to give students a systematic knowledge of the development of Serbian
medieval literature, to form an idea of the course of historical and literary process on the basis of specific artistic texts covered in the socio-political context of the day. The subject continues the systematic study of iconic literary figures and phenomena in the range
genre system, features of the poetics of Serbian biographical literature, panegyrics,
hymnography, their genre and genus-species specificity, traces the dynamics of coverage
these issues in medieval literary works. Discipline is designed to provide professional study of the main trends in the history of Serbian literature of the XVII - XVIII centuries.,to deepen the understanding of the specifics of the development of Serbian literature of this period, to improve professional mastery of the optimal amount of literary concepts and terms necessary for a full analysis

Lectures and seminars, independent work.
Assessment methods and criteria
During the semester, after lectures on relevant topics, seminars are held
classes, which are evaluated in accordance with the planned types of work.
Assessment of semester work: 1. Oral answer, additions, participation in discussions on
lectures and seminars, blitz polls, current test: 25/45 points. 2. Control test: 11/15
points.
Final assessment: Written exam: 24/40 points.
The semester final grade is formed by the points received by the student in the course of performance
specified types and forms of education and obtained in the exam.
