Prerequisites and co-requisites
Fluency in the Ukrainian and Japanese languages; knowledge of the theoretical foundations of translation studies; successful mastering of the disciplines "Japanese Language: Intermediate Level", "Fundamentals of the Theory of Japanese Translation", "Fundamentals of Translation Practice", "Basic Learning of Chinese Characters in Japanese".
Course content
The discipline DVS.2.02 "Translation of the Japanese Economic and Commercial Texts" from the optional block of disciplines "Japanese Linguocultural Studies and Translation" is taught in the fifth semester and consists of 4 credits, i.e., 120 hours: 52 hours of practical classes and 68 hours of self-study. The form of final control is an examination. The course is designed to update the acquired theoretical knowledge of translation studies and form practical skills, abilities and competencies of students that are necessary for the future profession of a philologist-translator in economic and commercial spheres. Practical classes include various types of work with Japanese texts: annotation, abstraction, written translation (full, selective and abbreviated) and interpretation (sequential and from a sheet). Students get acquainted with the main types, lexical, grammatical and stylistic features of the Japanese economic and commercial texts and the specifics of their translation into Ukrainian.

Assessment methods and criteria
