Prerequisites and co-requisites
Basic skills of analytical and search work; successful mastering of the disciplines "Fundamentals of Linguistics: Synchrony" and "Japanese Language: Basic Level" in the 1st semester; basic knowledge of Japanese and fluency in Ukrainian.
Course content
The discipline represents part 4 of the mandatory comprehensive discipline "Introduction to Philology" and is taught in the 2nd semester and consists of 2 credits: 60 hours (16 hours of lectures, 14 hours of seminars and 30 hours of self-study). The form of final control is a pass-fail examination. The course is designed to develop skills, abilities and competencies of students that are necessary for the future profession of a philologist-translator. In order to understand specifics of the Japanese language and linguistic view of the world, during lectures students get acquainted with phonetics, phonological processes, lexicology, grammar, syntax and stylistics of the Eastern language and at seminars they can demonstrate the results of self-study on the proposed topics.

Forms of training: lectures, seminars, self-study. Teaching methods: explanation of new material during lectures, independent search through the list of suggested topics, project work, participation in discussions.
