PLO 8. Know and understand the system of language, the general properties of literature as the art of word, the history of Swedish literature, be able to apply this knowledge in professional activities. PLO 13. Analyze and interpret works of Ukrainian and foreign fiction and oral folk art, determine their specificity and place in the literary process (according to the chosen specialization). PLO 15. Perform linguistic, literary and translation analysis of texts of different styles and genres.

Full-time form

The course "Swedish literature" requires prior mastery of the material of the course "Foreign Literature" and "Swedish literature" in the 4th semester, in particular general understanding of trends in the development of European literature and possession literary terminology, as well as command of the Swedish language at the level not lower than B1 in accordance with the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages.

The course "Swedish literature" in the 5th semester includes lectures and seminar classes. At the lectures, students get acquainted with the main trends, trends, figures, and works of Swedish literature. In the fifth semester, Swedish literature from the beginning of the 20th century to the present is considered. Attention is paid in particular to the works of Karin Boye, Hjalmar Söderberg, Harry Martinsson, and Thomas Tranströmer. The phenomenon of the Swedish detective is considered on the example of the works of Stieg Larsson, Henning Mankell, Lisa Marklund, Camilla Lekberg; postmodernist novels by Fredrik Backman and Jonas Jonasson. A separate topic is devoted to the work of Astrid Lindgren. The seminar classes include discussion and analysis of works of art or their fragments read by students, including works by Hjalmar Söderberg, Stig Dagerman, Tage Danielsson, Thomas Tranströmer and Mikael Niemi.

Explanatory and illustrative method, method of problem-based learning (problem lecture), heuristic method, analytical tasks, written works, educational discussions, independent work of students.

Current assessment: interview, written work, report, final test. The final assessment is an exam. Evaluation criteria for each form of control are given in the course program.
