Prerequisites and co-requisites
It is desirable (but not critical) to be acquainted with modern
concepts of physics and biology regarding the structure of the universe, connections between
animate and inanimate matter, through prior mastery of the course
"Scientific image of the world" or self-education.
Course content
In the course program, the main attention is paid to questions of factorial ecology and synecology (ecology of communities), as well as environmental quality control methods, including basic assessment principles of the impact of economic activity on the state of the environment, problems of demecology (ecology of populations) and ecology of organisms, as the discipline is oriented for students majoring in philology, are considered only in context of other issues. The main principles are included in the consideration of formation of environmental policy, review of ways of its implementation and criteria of efficiency.

Planned learning activities and teaching methods
Learning activities: lectures, individual consultations, independent work of students. Teaching methods: explanatory-illustrative method, method of problem-based learning (problem lecture), heuristic method, educational discussion, consultations.

Current assessment: tests. Final assessment - credit. Evaluation criteria for each form of control are given in the course program.
