Prerequisites and co-requisites
1. Successful completion of the "Chinese language" course; "Introduction to Chinese Philology"; "Lexicology of the Chinese language", "Linguistic studies of China", etc.
2) knowledge of the theoretical foundations of philological science (linguistics and literary studies) and cultural studies;
3) mastering the practice of translating Chinese-language texts, the skills of literary and cultural analysis of original works;
4) the ability to use cultural information when translating and interpreting Chinese-language texts.
Course content
The study discipline is designed for one semester and consists of two modules. Module 1: "General provisions of linguistic and cultural studies" (2 credits), Module 2: "Cultural information in Chinese language units" (2 credits). The first module systematizes information on the history of linguistic and cultural studies in the world, the terminology of this science, different points of view on the object and key problems of the science. Within the framework of the second module, the main theoretical provisions are applied to the material of the Chinese language, the cultural information required for the translation and interpretation of texts is extracted from culturally marked linguistic units (mostly lexical).
The educational discipline is one of the components of comprehensive training in the specialty "Philology (Oriental Languages and Literatures (including translation))" under the program "Chinese Language and Literature and Translation, English Language", elective block "Chinese Studies: Linguistic and Cultural Studies and translation". Language of teaching and assessment: Ukrainian.

Planned learning activities and teaching methods
The course provides the following forms of training organization: lecture and seminar classes conducted using interactive teaching methods, and independent work. The main types of work and, accordingly, the objects of semester control are: the answer to the seminary lesson, design work. Detailed planned educational events and teaching methods are presented in the working program of the discipline, published on the official website of the Educational and Scientific Institute of Philology.
Assessment methods and criteria
Knowledge control is carried out according to the ECTS system, which provides for a two-level assessment of the learned material, in particular theoretical training, which is 40% of the total assessment, and practical training, which is 60% of the total assessment. Semester number of points are formed by points received by the student for classroom work and for independent work; As a result: in the maximum dimension of 100 points, in the minimum dimension of 60 points. The discipline ends with a credit, which is exhibited based on the results of the student's work throughout the semester and does not provide for additional assessment measures. Evaluation criteria are presented in the working program of the discipline, published on the official website of the Educational and Scientific Institute of Philology.
