            1) successful mastering of the disciplines "Chinese language", "Fundamentals of translation practice", "Chinese language translation practice", "Fundamentals of Chinese language translation theory", "Linguistic and regional studies", "Fundamentals of linguistic and cultural studies", etc.;
2) knowledge of the theoretical foundations of philological science (linguistics and literary studies) and cultural studies;
3) mastering the practice of translating Chinese-language texts, the skills of literary and cultural analysis of original works;
4) the ability to use cultural information when translating and interpreting Chinese-language texts.
        
    
            Course content
        
        
            The educational discipline "Peculiarities of the translation of texts of various genres in the context of linguistic and cultural studies" is one of the components of the comprehensive training in the specialty "Philology (Oriental languages and literatures (including translation))" under the program "Chinese language and literature and translation, English language", selective block " Chinese Studies: Linguistic and Cultural Studies and Translation". The study discipline is designed for one semester and consists of two modules. Module 1: "Peculiarities of translating texts of non-fictional genres" (2 credits), Module 2: "Peculiarities of translating texts of artistic genres" (2 credits). Within the limits of the first module, texts of a non-artistic direction (information message, report, abstract, statute, etc.) in the plane of "Chinese - Ukrainian languages" are worked out in practice. Within the scope of the second module, the focus of attention shifts to texts of an artistic direction (stories, essays, advertisements, etc.). Teaching and assessment languages: Ukrainian, Chinese.

            Planned learning activities and teaching methods
        
        
            The course provides for the following forms of training organization: practical classes conducted using interactive learning methods, and independent work. The main types of work and, accordingly, the objects of semester control are: classroom work, answers in a practical lesson, modular control works with open answers.             Assessment methods and criteria
        
        
            Knowledge control is carried out according to the ECTS system, which provides for a two-level assessment of the learned material, in particular, theoretical training, which makes up 40% of the total grade, and practical training, which makes up 60% of the total grade. The semester number of points is formed by the points received by the student for classroom work and for independent work; in the end: in the maximum dimension 60 points, in the minimum dimension 36 points. The discipline ends with an exam. Evaluation criteria are presented in the work program of the discipline, published on the official website of the Educational and Scientific Institute of Philology.
