Form of study
Prerequisites and co-requisites
1) successful completion of the courses "Chinese Language: Advanced Level", "Theory and Practice of Chinese Phonetics", "Fundamentals of Chinese Translation Theory", "Lexicology of the Chinese Language", etc.; 2) knowledge of the theoretical foundations of philological science (linguistics and literary studies); 3) mastering the skills of theoretical analysis of the studied material.
Course content
In practice, the system of general theoretical knowledge in the field of grammar of the modern Chinese language is learned. The following main questions are considered: 1) the history of the formation of grammar as a separate branch of linguistics in Chinese and Western linguistic traditions; 2) morphological classification of world languages; 3) the problem of defining word boundaries in Chinese; 4) the problem of identifying parts of speech in Chinese, etc. The educational discipline is one of the components of the complex discipline "General theoretical course of the Chinese language", which consists of four parts: Part 1. Theory and practice of Chinese phonetics (2 credits); Part 2. Fundamentals of Chinese translation theory (2 credits); Part 3. Lexicology of the Chinese language (3 credits); Part 4. Comparative Chinese grammar (2 credits). Within the fourth part, two meaningful modules are distinguished. Teaching and assessment languages: Ukrainian, Chinese.

Planned learning activities and teaching methods
The course provides the following forms of training: lectures and seminars conducted using interactive teaching methods, and individual work. The main types of activities and, accordingly, the objects of semester control are: classroom activities, answers during seminars, written tests. Detailed planned educational activities and teaching methods are presented in the work program of the discipline, published on the official website of the Educational and Scientific Institute of Philology.
Assessment methods and criteria
Knowledge control is carried out according to the ECTS system, which provides for a two-level assessment of the mastered material, including theoretical training, which is 40% of the total assessment, and practical training, which is 60% of the total assessment. The semester number of points is formed by the points received by the student for classroom activities and for individual work. The minimum score for the semester is 36 points, while the maximum score equals 60. Final assessment: the exam, which is conducted in the form of written work, which is rated a maximum of 30 points, as well as the oral part in the form of reading aloud and reproducing rhythmic and intonation models with a maximum score of 10 points.
