Prerequisites and co-requisites
1. Know: - the place of English in the language system of the world; - features of the English language as an integral system; - rules of phonetic design (stress, pause, intonation) of statements of various types (dialogue, monologue) in accordance with the situation of intercultural communication; 2. Be able to: - to produce prepared or unprepared monologue and dialogical statements that summarize and / or complement the content of what is heard or seen; - apply effective learning strategies in reading and listening; - critically comprehend and express their own opinions about what they read or heard, provide arguments; compare and contrast opinions, etc.; 3. Possess elementary skills: - technical skills in creating presentations. - implementation of scientific research and improvement of their educational strategies.
Course content
The course "English Language in Business and Academic Domains" is designed to improve and ensure the further development of knowledge, skills and abilities in a foreign language acquired in the scope of the university program, and their activation for the implementation of research activities. To this end, the course improves the sociocultural, speech, professional and cognitive competencies of students, forms a positive attitude towards mastering the language and culture of the English-speaking world, as well as increases the effectiveness of communication in English. This course is a basic discipline within the framework of the training program for specialists at the educational qualification level "bachelor", field of knowledge 03. Humanities, specialty 035. Planned learning activities and teaching methods
The course provides the following forms of organization of training: practical classes conducted using interactive teaching methods, and independent work. The main types of work and, accordingly, the objects of semester control are: work in a practical lesson, writing an academic essay, modular test paper. Assessment methods and criteria
Knowledge control is carried out according to the ECTS system, which provides for a two-level assessment of the learned material, in particular theoretical training, which is 40% of the total assessment, and practical training, which is 60% of the total assessment. The semester number of points is formed by the points received by the student for classroom work and for independent work; As a result: in the maximum dimension of 60 points, in the minimum dimension 36 points.Final assessment: an exam.
