Prerequisites and co-requisites
1) successful mastery of the discipline: "Translation practice (Oriental language)"; 2) knowledge of grammatical and lexical topics that have been studied during previous courses; 3) knowledge of the theoretical foundations of translation studies from the course "Fundamentals of translation theory"; 4) knowledge of basic skills of language and speech competence.
Course content
The discipline provides for the formation of students' basic skills and abilities in translating texts of legal and diplomatic topics, business communication from the Eastern language to Ukrainian by applying in practice knowledge of the basics of translation theory; development of skills in identifying translation difficulties and deciding on ways to overcome them, applying all types of translation transformations and compensations in the process of creating a high-quality translation product; improving skills in working with lexicographic sources, scientific and reference literature. The discipline "Translation of Chinese-language legal and diplomatic texts" is one of the selective disciplines of the specialty "Philology (Oriental languages and literatures (translation inclusive), the first is Chinese)" under the program "Chinese Language and Literature and Translation, English" of the selective block "Chinese Studies: Linguistics and Translation".

Planned learning activities and teaching methods
The course provides the following forms of organization of training: practical classes conducted using interactive teaching methods, and independent work. The main types of work and, accordingly, the objects of semester control are: oral surveys, written works, control work with open answers, project work, oral speeches, final control work. Detailed planned educational events and teaching methods are presented in the working program of the discipline, published on the official website of the Educational and Scientific Institute of Philology.
Assessment methods and criteria
Knowledge control is carried out according to the ECTS system, which provides for a two-level assessment of the learned material, in particular theoretical training, which is 40% of the total assessment, and practical training, which is 60% of the total assessment. Semester number of points are formed by points received by the student for classroom work and for independent work; As a result: in the maximum dimension of 100 points, in the minimum dimension of 60 points. The discipline ends with a credit, which is exhibited based on the results of the student's work throughout the semester and does not provide for additional assessment measures. Evaluation criteria are presented in the working program of the discipline, published on the official website of the Educational and Scientific Institute of Philology.
