Prerequisites and co-requisites
1) successful mastery of the disciplines "Basics of Translation Practice", "Basics of Chinese Translation Theory", "Chinese Language: Intermediate Level", etc.; 2) knowledge of the theoretical foundations of philological science (linguistics and literary studies), culturology, history and geography of China; 3) mastery of skills of lexical, grammatical and stylistic analysis of original works.
Course content
The purpose of the discipline is the development and improvement of students' language and translation competence in accordance with their profession, the achievement by future specialists of such a level of translation competence that will provide them with the opportunity to professionally carry out translation activities in various types of translation in oral and written forms. The academic discipline "Chinese language translation practice» - a complex discipline consisting of two parts: Part 1. Basics of translation practice (7 credits); Part 2. Chinese language translation practice (4 credits). Within the second part there are 4 modules. Teaching and assessment languages: Ukrainian, Chinese.

Planned learning activities and teaching methods
The course provides the following forms of training: practical classes conducted using interactive teaching methods, and individual work. The main types of activities and, accordingly, the objects of semester control are: classroom activities, answers during practical classes, surveys of lexical and phraseological material, modular tests with open answers. Detailed planned educational activities and teaching methods are presented in the work program of the discipline, published on the official website of the Educational and Scientific Institute of Philology.
Assessment methods and criteria
Knowledge control is carried out according to the ECTS system, which provides for a two-level assessment of the mastered material, including theoretical training, which is 40% of the total assessment, and practical training, which is 60% of the total assessment. The semester number of points is formed by the points received by the student for classroom activities and for individual work. The minimum score for the semester is 36 points, while the maximum score equals 60. Final assessment: exam. The exam is conducted in the form of written work, which consists of two tasks (translation of a text from Chinese into Ukrainian and vice versa), each of which is evaluated with a maximum of 20 points. Criteria for semester and exam assessment are presented in the work program of the discipline, published on the official website of the Educational and Scientific Institute of Philology.
