Prerequisites and co-requisites
Students have to know basics of general, inorganic, analytical, colloidal, organic chemistry. Have basic skills in a chemical laboratory. Know the theoretical foundations of electrochemical, spectroscopic, chromatographic methods of analysis and have the skills of practical application of these methods in a chemical laboratory. Know the methods of statistical processing of analysis results. Have the skills to work with scientific literature, comparative and systematic analysis, extrapolation of the obtained data to solve specific scientific and practical problems.
Course content
Classification and properties of environmental and biological toxicants. Sources of entry, ways of transportation, metabolism, criteria for the level of toxicity of eco- and biotoxicants in the environment and in organisms. Organization, planning and implementation of sampling, sample preparation, identification and quantification of environmental and biological toxicants. Planning and carrying out the identification of specific ecological and biological samples with eco- and biotoxicants by screening methods.

Assessment methods and criteria
The semester control includes homework, tests and presentations. The evaluation is based on a 100-point system. The maximum / minimum number of points that can be obtained by a student during the semester assessment is 60 points / 36 points. The final assessment is conducted in the form of an exam. The maximum / minimum number of points that can be obtained by a student on the exam is 40 points / 24 points.
