Learning outcomes
P2. Deeply understand basic facts, concepts, principles and theories related to subject area of the master's program, use them to solve complex problems and tasks as well as conduct research in the relevant field of chemistry. P3. Apply acquired knowledge and understanding to solve new qualitative and quantitative chemistry tasks. P9. Collect, evaluate and analyze data needed to solve complex chemistry tasks using appropriate data analysis methods and tools. P13. Analyze scientific problems and provide their solutions at the abstract level by decomposing them into components that can be investigated separately. P14. Interpret experimentally obtained data and correlate them with relevant theories in chemistry.
Form of study
Full-time form
Prerequisites and co-requisites
1. Know the main differences between solutions of polymers and solutions of low molecular weight compounds. 2. To know the structure of polymer solutions of different concentrations. 3. To have basic skills in using experimental methods for studying polymer solutions. 4. To have basic knowledge of the physico-chemistry of polymers.
Course content
basic concepts about the structure of high-molecular compounds, peculiarities of the molecular structure and physicochemical properties of polymer solutions, thermodynamic and molecular parameters of solutions of high-molecular compounds and their determination by the methods of osmometry, viscometry, sedimentation and light scattering.
