Learning outcomes
Understand deeply the basic facts, concepts, principles and theories related to the subject area mastered during the master's program, use them to solve complex problems and problems, as well as conduct research in the relevant field of chemistry. Apply the acquired knowledge and understanding to solve new qualitative and quantitative problems of chemistry. Synthesize chemical compounds with specified properties, analyze them and assess compliance with specified requirements. Plan, organize and carry out experimental research in chemistry using modern equipment, competently process their results and draw sound conclusions. Interpret experimentally obtained data and correlate them with relevant theories in chemistry.
Form of study
Full-time form
Prerequisites and co-requisites
Have basic knowledge of the basis of the synthesis of chemical compounds of various chemical nature and basic knowledge of university courses in physics, higher mathematics, physical chemistry and colloid chemistry at the bachelor's level.
Course content
The course "Nanosystems in Sensors, Adsorption and Catalysis" outlines the basic laws of formation of nanosystems, features of their classification, modern methods of their synthesis, study of morphology and physicochemical properties of nanosystems based on metals, oxides, carbon materials and others. Methods of obtaining semiconductor nanomaterials and the influence of the conditions of their formation on the sensor and adsorption-catalytic properties; methods of modifying nanomaterials in order to obtain highly active catalysts and highly sensitive and fast-acting adsorption-semiconductor gas sensors; the principle of action of sensors and the mechanism of formation of their sensitivity, physicochemical methods of research of nanomaterials and the basic parameters of the sensors created on their basis are described.
