Prerequisites and co-requisites
1. Master the courses "Evolutionary Psychology", "Neuropsychology of conscious and unconscious mental processes", "Cognitive and social neuropsychology" and "Neuropsychology of personality".
2. Know the theoretical foundations of social psychology and personality psychology.
3. Have basic skills in research, search, processing and analysis of information from various sources, the use of information and communication technologies.
Course content
The aim of the course is to provide students with theoretical knowledge and practical skills necessary to understand the specifics of beliefs and convictions, their determinants and peculiarities of formation, influences on them, based on modern psychological theories and empirical data.
The content of the course is revealed in two modules. The first is an acquaintance with the specifics and properties of personal beliefs, the principles of their formation, heuristics, cognitive distortions, psychological approaches to the study of beliefs. The second module focuses on socio-political and moral beliefs, their neuropsychological, cognitive and social underpinnings, beliefs and conspiracy theories, including the current challenges of overcoming the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic, combating global climate change and the need to integrate modern politically polarized societies.

Assessment methods and criteria
Oral reports, discussion, presentation, analytical essay.
Semester assessment: answers and additions to seminars, analytical essay are evaluated.
The grade is formed as the sum of all points earned during the semester.
Oral answer - from 12 to 20 points.
Addition - from 6 to 10 points.
Analytical essay - from 24 to 40 points.
Evaluation organization:
0-59 - not credited, 60-100 credit.
