Learning outcomes
LO1. To analyze and interpret mental phenomena, identify psychological problems and suggest ways to resolve them. LO6. To define the research purpose and the tasks, to have skills of collecting empirical data, to follow the research norms. LO7. To consider and critically evaluate the reliability of the results of the psychological research, make valid conclusions. LO8. To present results of own research orally / in writing for the professionals and nonprofessionals. LO9. To propose own solutions of psychological problems in a professional context, to argue own point of view.

Prerequisites and co-requisites
- Know the theoretical foundations of general psychology, anatomy and physiology of the CNS. - Have basic skills in research, search, systematization and analysis of information from various sources, the use of information and communication technologies.
Course content
This discipline is aimed at studying the basic principles of experimental psychology, in particular the consideration of basic research strategies in psychology; specifics of the main components of the experiment: hypotheses, samples, variables; features of measurement and scaling of mental phenomena; specifics of experiment planning in psychology and interpretation of experimental research results.

Lecture, seminars, individual work
Assessment methods and criteria
Oral reports, discussion, presentation, final test, exam. Semester assessment: answers to seminars, independent work are evaluated. Oral answer - from 12 to 20 points. Addition - from 6 to 10 points. Independent individual work - from 12 to 20 points. Final test - from 6 to 10 points. The maximum number of points for work during the semester is 60, the minimum - 36. The maximum number of points for the exam is 40, the minimum is 24. Rating scale: 90-100 - excellent; 75-89 - good; 60-74 - satisfactory; 0-59 - unsatisfactory.
