Form of study
Prerequisites and co-requisites
The student must know: historical milestones of social development, features of the development of social work practice; content and tasks of social work; basic methods of social work and socio-pedagogical activities.
The student must be able to: analyze historical processes, social processes of formation and development of social work as a science and practice; use information and communication technologies.
The student must have the skills to apply knowledge of the subject area and understanding of professional activities in practical situations.
Course content
The purpose of the discipline is to form students' knowledge of the concept, content, stages of institutionalization of social policy, principles, directions, mechanisms of formation and implementation of social policy, development of students' ability to analyze factors influencing its formation, determine features of social policy, including features of the social protection system of Ukraine.
The discipline contains two content modules. The first module reveals the theoretical and methodological foundations of state regulation of social processes, key moments in the history of social assistance and support at different stages of sociogenesis and typology of social policy of different countries in modern political science. The second module is devoted to the analysis of the model of social policy in Ukraine and the mechanisms of its implementation, reveals the features of the functioning of the main elements of the social protection system.

Test, discussion, practical (search-analytical, creative) task, modular test.
Assessment methods and criteria
Assessment of students is carried out during all types of classes and for the results of independent work.
The minimum number of scores that can be scored per semester and required for admission to the exam – 36 scores, the maximum number of scores that a student can score for work during the semester – 60 scores (of which: survey – 20 scores (2-4 points each), independent work – 10 scores, modular test – 20 scores, practical tasks – 10 scores).
Final assessment – exam (maximum – 40 scores, minimum – 24 scores).
Grading scheme:
- Excellent (90-100 scores)
- Good (75-89 scores)
- Satisfactory (60-74 scores)
- Fail (0-59 scores)
