Learning outcomes
LO1. To analyze and interpret mental phenomena, identify psychological problems and suggest ways to resolve them. LO2. To understand patterns and tendencies of the development and functioning of mental phenomena in the professional tasks’ context. LO12. To compile and implement a program of psychoprophylactic, educational activities and psychological help activities in the form of lectures, talks, round tables, games, trainings, etc., in accordance with the requirements of the customer. LO16. To know, understand and implement ethical principles of psychologist professional activity.
Form of study
Prerequisites and co-requisites
1. To know the basic concepts and methods of research in psychology, theoretical foundations of the structure of the psyche, age periodization of mental development of the personality, patterns and mechanisms of personality formation. 2. To be able to use the acquired theoretical knowledge to solve research, diagnostic, counseling and psychocorrectional problems in psychological and pedagogical practice. 3. To possess basic skills in analyzing scientific psychological literature, business speech skills and participation in discussions in accordance with the norms of business communication culture.
Course content
The purpose of the discipline is to form a holistic view of the system of psychological and pedagogical knowledge, in particular, theories and practices of teaching and upbringing as the main mechanisms of directed socialization of a modern person, the acquisition of skills in psychological support of educational and upbringing activities, the formation of the foundations of the psychological culture of professional thinking of students. The course covers theories, history, patterns and principles of building educational systems; peculiarities of mental development and personality formation in the process of education and upbringing. Significant attention is paid to diagnostic methods and methods of correctional and developmental work on issues of underachievement, difficulty in education, school psychological maladjustment, etc. The modern psychological and pedagogical technologies of teaching, upbringing and development are analyzed, taking into account the individual characteristics of the subjects of education.

Assessment methods and criteria
1. Oral answers, individual work (presentation at the seminar, participation in discussions and debates, additions, preparation of speeches, presentations): 35/21 points 2. Practical work: 15/9 points 3. Modular work: 10/6 points The final assessment is conducted in the form of an exam. The form of the examination is written. Types of tasks - open questions; the answer to open question 1 is estimated at 30%; the answer to open question 2 - 30%, the answer to question 3 - 40% of the total score. The minimum threshold level of the exam score for the exam to be considered passed cannot be less than 24 points. Conditions for admission to the exam. A student is not allowed to take the exam if he or she scored less than 36 points during the semester. They are admitted to the exam if they have completed 50% of the practical work provided for in the plan.
