LO1. To analyze and interpret mental phenomena, identify psychological problems and suggest ways to resolve them. LO2. To understand patterns and tendencies of the development and functioning of mental phenomena in the professional tasks’ context.

Prerequisites and co-requisites
1 Master the courses "General Psychology", "Neuropsychology", "Fundamentals of Psychogenetics".
2 Know the theoretical foundations of the structure of the psyche, factors and basic mechanisms of personality formation, features of the brain organization of mental processes.
3 Have basic skills in research, retrieval, processing and analysis of information from various sources, the use of information and communication technologies.
Course content
Neurocultural studies is an interdisciplinary field of research that focuses on the relationship between culture and the human brain. Students get acquainted with theoretical and applied concepts of modern neuroscience, in their relationship with various cultural phenomena. The course concerns the evolution and microevolution of the brain, neurological correlates of cultural development of mankind, neurobiology of the creative process, brain organization of the process of aesthetic perception, the impact of cultural experience on structural and functional features of the brain through neuroplasticity mechanisms. Particular attention is paid to modern methods of brain research and their heuristic capabilities in explaining the phenomena of both classical and changing modern culture.

Semester assessment: answers to seminars, independent work are evaluated.
The grade is formed as the sum of all points earned during the semester.
Oral answer - from 18 to 25 points.
Additions - from 6 to 15 points.
Independent individual work - from 24 to 40 points.
Final test - from 12 to 20 points.
Evaluation organization:
0-59 - not credited, 60-100 credit.
