Prerequisites and co-requisites
1. To know: the basics of philosophy and biology in the scope of general secondary education.
2. To be able to: distinguish between scientific and non-scientific statements, identify criteria in the descriptive texts of the authors of primary sources and determine to which scientific field of knowledge the observed phenomenon or problem belongs.
3. To possess elementary skills to define, analyze and explain mental phenomena, identify psychological problems and propose ways to solve them, elementary skills of note-taking and working with educational literature and primary sources.
Course content
The course "Introduction to the specialty" is aimed at getting acquainted with the basics of the future profession and the general system of concepts and categories of psychology. The educational discipline consists of three content modules: Content module 1 "Methodological foundations of psychology" reveals the definition of psychology as a science, its place among other sciences, the problems of studying the psyche, the main categories of psychology and methodological principles. Content module 2 "Psychic phenomena" describes the classification of mental phenomena, mental processes, personality in activity, concepts of individual, personality, subject of activity. Content module 3 "Professional activity of a psychologist" describes the types and spheres of a psychologist's activity, personal and professional qualities of a professional psychologist, introduces the concept of professional ethics in the work of a psychologist.

The minimum score that must be obtained by the student according to the relevant assessment forms is 36 points. The maximum score that can be obtained by a student per semester is 60 points.

The maximum number of points that can be obtained by the applicant is 40 points out of 100

The form of the exam is oral, with a written component. The exam consists of 2 tasks. They are evaluated for 20 points. The minimum threshold level of the exam grade, at which the exam is considered passed - the exam grade cannot be less than 24 points.
Conditions for admission to the exam. The applicant is not admitted to the exam if he scored less than 36 points during the study period.
