PLO-04. Plan and perform experimental and / or theoretical research in physics (astronomy) and related interdisciplinary fields using modern tools, critically analyze the results of their own research and the results of other researchers in the context of the whole complex of modern knowledge on the research problem. PLO-07. Deeply understand the general principles and methods of natural sciences, as well as the methodology of scientific research, be able to apply them in their own research in physics (astronomy) and in teaching practice.
Form of study
Distance form
Prerequisites and co-requisites
1. Know the thermodynamics of physicochemical transformations. 2. Know the basic physical mechanisms of functioning of ceramic materials. 3. Know the most modern experimental methods for observing and studying the structural-phase characteristics of nanostructured materials. 4. Be able to conduct structural research and study the physical properties of ceramic nanocomposites. 5. Understand the features of the influence of structure on the physical and mechanical characteristics of ceramics. 6. Be able to evaluate the characteristics of ceramic composites with a known structure and phase composition.
Course content
The discipline covers modern experience in the science of creating ceramic composite materials with pre-predicted physical properties using in-situ reactions. The course develops the professional skills of a graduate student as an independent research developer of modern ceramic materials for various purposes. Approaches to the creation and research of ceramic materials with nanotubes, graphene and other nanoscale inclusions, as well as the features of the impact of such inclusions on the characteristics of the material will be considered. The course is based on practical experience in the structural design of ceramic nanocomposites.
