Learning outcomes
Know the design features of promising nuclear reactors, the main approaches to reducing long-term radwaste and NFC closure, as well as the provision of new nuclear power reactors. Be able to work with large amounts of material to substantiate the main trends in the development of nuclear energy and solve current problems.
Form of study
Full-time form
Prerequisites and co-requisites
1. Successful learning of basic courses "Molecular hysics", "Nuclear Physics" as well as the following special cources: "Design and systems of nuclear power installations", "Nuclear Safety of NPPs", "Dynamics of nuclear reactors", "Theory of nuclear reactors". 2. To be able to solve tasks within the frames of general mathematical, physical and special courses. 3. To possess computer-working skills for information search in Internet, analyze of information available as well as independent solving the complex tasks.
Course content
1. gives students knowledge of the principles of construction of modern and promising nuclear power plants, including fourth generation reactors, as well as the peculiarities of spent nuclear fuel management in order to improve the NFC.. 2. provides students with skills for self-study of a large amount of material on the latest nuclear facilities and technologies in order to increase their safety, reduce radwaste, short-circuit nuclear power plants to ensure the use of nuclear energy in energy, medicine, applied and basic research.
