Learning outcomes
Know: 1. the functioning of B-meson factories; 2. basic collaborations that study B-mesons and the operation of detectors; 3. have methods of research and analysis: particle identification, finding the top of the decay, reconstruction of decays, background suppression, time-dependent analysis, calculation of systematic errors; 4. main results: quarconium physics, CKM matrix, magic particle physics, two-photon physics, etc .; Be able to: 1. logically and consistently formulate the basic concepts of B-meson physics; 2. know the main directions of research with B-mesons; 3. analyze experimental data and evaluate the accuracy of the results; 4. independently master and use the literature on the physics of B-mesons.
Form of study
Full-time form
Prerequisites and co-requisites
1. Successful study of all previous courses of high energy physics. 2. Be able to perform calculations and solve problems in particle physics. 3. Have the skills to write computer programs for data analysis.
Course content
The course "Physics of B-mesons" will teach students to navigate freely at the qualitative and quantitative level in the main processes of collisions on the beams of accelerators, accompanied by the birth of B-mesons. Develop skills of practical use of acquired knowledge, methods and approaches in research that form the basis of professional activity.
