Learning outcomes
Know the design features of promising nuclear reactors, the main approaches to reducing long-term radwaste and NFC closure, as well as the provision of new nuclear power reactors. Be able to work with large amounts of material to substantiate the main trends in the development of nuclear energy and solve current problems.

Prerequisites and co-requisites
1. Successful learning of basic courses "Molecular hysics", "Nuclear Physics" as well as the following special cources: "Design and systems of nuclear power installations", "Nuclear Safety of NPPs", "Dynamics of nuclear reactors", "Theory of nuclear reactors". 2. To be able to solve tasks within the frames of general mathematical, physical and special courses. 3. To possess computer-working skills for information search in Internet, analyze of information available as well as independent solving the complex tasks.
Course content
The course “Modern problems and perspectives of nuclear fuel cycles development and radioactive waste management” allows to significantly improving the professional level of education for students of Department of Nuclear Physics. This deals with acquisition of new skills by students to independently processing great amount of educational materials as for newly developed nuclear installations and technologies to enhance nuclear safety, to decrease an amount of radioactive waste, closure of nuclear fuel cycle for safe utilization of nuclear energy in power industry, medicine, applied and fundamental researches.
