The purpose of the master's qualification work is the systematization, generalization, consolidation and expansion of the theoretical and experimental knowledge and skills acquired during training, their effective application for the performance of independent and completed scientific research with elements of scientific novelty, using various sources of information, the application of theories, principles and physics methods, modeling of physical objects, as well as the ability to logically and consistently present the obtained scientific results

The master's qualification work is the final stage of the education of the student of the second (master's) level of higher education. The master's qualification work is carried out with the aim of summarizing and systematizing the acquired theoretical knowledge and practical skills in the field of medical physics and is a completed development that reflects the integral competence of the author. The qualification paper presents the results of experimental and/or theoretical research conducted using the principles and methods of physics aimed at solving a specific scientific task in the field of medical physics.

Students complete the qualification work for the master's degree in the terms provided by the curriculum and schedule of the educational process. The department appoints a supervisor for qualifying work for each student. Topic and tasks for qualification work by the head of the qualification department works for each student are prepared individually. The topic of the master's qualification work for each student is approved at the department meeting before the start of the qualification work.

The results of the master work are summarized in the form of a public defense of the work before the examination commission (EC), which is approved by the Rector. Evaluation of the quality level of the candidate's training and higher education is carried out by the members of the examination commission based on the principles of objectivity, ethics, comprehensiveness, individual, differentiated and competence approach. Qualifying work with signs of plagiarism is not considered by the decision of the examination board, it is given an unsatisfactory grade. The decision on the final assessment is made by the majority of the EC members based on the results of the public defense, taking into account the conclusions of the scientific supervisor and the reviewer. The results of the defense are approved by the protocol at the EC meeting. In case of a positive evaluation of the work, the appropriate qualification is assigned by the decision of the commission.
