Learning outcomes
To know the basics of economics and the structure of the modern world economy, regional features of economic development, interests of Ukraine in relations with other countries, factors and sources of economic growth in the world countries.
To analyze the main industry sectors of the world economy, the regional features of economic development; summarize the experience of sweeping economic reforms; analyze the problems of building and functioning of market infrastructure in the world countries.
Form of study
Prerequisites and co-requisites
To know basics of economic theory, microeconomics, macroeconomics, functioning of enterprise’s economic and international economics, basics of economic analysis, marketing, management, basics of economic history, principles of enterprise’s financial activity
To work with analytical data and enterprise’s reports; to assess the enterprises effectiveness; to have the skills to search, process and present statistical information,analyze the marketing situation at international and local markets.
Course content
The program of discipline involves the study of characteristics and development of the world economy. The program reviews general characteristics and resource potential of the world economy, current trends in the world economy, the economy of Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development, the newly industrialized economies, developing countries’ economies, the economies of the least developed countries, countries with economies in transition.
The program studies the economies of countries by regions: Western Europe, North America, Latin America, Africa, Middle East, Southeast Asia, South Asia and the Far East.
