            Learning outcomes
        
        
            PLO 2. To demonstrate an adequate level of mastery of national and
foreign languages to perform written and spoken communication,
namely in the situations of professional and academic communication;
to present the results of their studies in these national and foreign
languages.
PLO 4. To assess and analyze critically vital social, individual and
professional issues and offer tactics for their resolution, in difficult and
unpredictable conditions, which require the application of new
approaches and forecasting.
PLO 5. To find optimal ways for effective interaction in the professional
community and with representatives of other professional groups at
various levels.
PLO 21. To know the specifics of translator’s work in various fields
(textual, media, audiovisual, web-space) and be able to use necessary
tools and techniques.

            Prerequisites and co-requisites
        
        
            An intercultural competent person must possess a certain level of linguistic
and regional studies, sociolinguistics, sociocultural and intercultural
knowledge and skills that ensure real communication in a
professionally oriented field of activity. The development and
actualization of practical knowledge and skills takes place in various
types of activity: communicative, research or cognitive search,
independent creative activity aimed at self-improvement and self-
development.
        
    
            Course content
        
        
            This discipline aim is to train the highly qualified translators\interpreters
from the Spanish (second) language on the basis of a cultural approach,
broadening the worldview of students, deepening their scientific and
theoretical knowledge and practical skills. For this purpose, it is
planned to provide information about communication strategies
(development of speech communication skills in view of the
management concept of communication) and consolidate skills through
a system of various exercises aimed at combining the theory of
communication with the practice of applying its main postulates.
Within the framework of the course, all the knowledge and skills
acquired during the previous years of study in the practice of the
Spanish language are summarized and the students ability to choose
the necessary communicative strategy, depending on the specific
situation, is improved

            Planned learning activities and teaching methods
        
        
            Teaching methods:
• oral response, blitz oral test;
• development of communicative and cultural topics;
• exercises in oral expression
• conducting a conversation and maintaining a dialogue on the subject of the
course
• writing abstracts, essays
        
    
            Assessment methods and criteria
        
        
            Semester assessment: exam.
Points are distributed as follows: max. 60 points during the semester, and
min. are 36 points.
Evaluation criteria:
• oral answers, additions, participation in practical discussions, blitz oral
test: RN 1.1–1.3, 2.1-2.2, 31-3.2, 4 – min. 5 points;
• exercises in oral expression: RN1.1-1.3, 3.1-3.2 - min. 5 points;
• communicative and cultural topics: RN1.1-1.3, 3.1-3.2 - min. 10 points;
• writing an abstract and an essay on the subject of the course and its
defense\presentation: RN 1.1-1.3, 2.1-2.2, 4 - min. 16 points;
• evaluation of all types of work is carried out in points, in accordance with
clause 7.1 of the work plan of scientific discipline.
