Prerequisites and co-requisites
1. Successful mastering of the disciplines "Landscape Science", "Biogeography", "Fundamentals geoecology", "Basics of GIS", "Soil science", "Geomorphology", "Educational practice with methods of processing geographic information". 2. To know the basic theoretical principles and methods of distinguishing landscapes and their morphological ones parts, to be able to classify and evaluate them. 3. To know the main theoretical principles and methods of ecology and geoecology for the selection of structures ecosystems, analysis of their dynamics, resistance to external influences. 4. Know the capabilities of GIS for mapping, analysis, assessment of landscapes and ecosystems and to be able to apply them to solve the problems of landscape protection, landscape and territorial planning, international cooperation in the mentioned fields. 5. To be able to apply the subject-object approach of scientific knowledge when studying problems protection, use, assessment and landscape planning.
Course content
The educational discipline "Landscape Ecology" is focused on the acquisition by students of the necessary methodical and methodological knowledge and practical skills of applying methods and techniques of analysis of structures, changes, stability landscapes from the perspective of the subject-object (ecological) approach. Discipline introduces students with the main scientific and theoretical concepts of landscape ecology, assimilation patterns of territorial organization of landscapes and processes forming vertical and territorial structures of the landscape, its evolution and dynamic changes and resistance to anthropogenic loads. The discipline is aimed at the formation of special professional, social and personal competencies needed to explore landscapes from positions ecological approach, obtaining and analyzing information about the properties of landscapes, their dynamic and territorial features. The subject consists of two content modules.
