Successful mastering of the disciplines "Higher mathematics with the basics of mathematical statistics", "Educational practice on methods of acquiring geographical information", "Physical geography of continents and oceans", "Basics of geoecology", etc. 2. To know the theoretical foundations of social geography 3. To be able to use statistical information, available scientific and educational and methodological literature 4. To have elementary skills of analyzing the state of socio-economic development of the countries of the world
Course content
This educational discipline is dedicated to the disclosure of the object and subject of the economic and social geography of the world, the study of the modern political map of the world and individual regions, the main objects on the political map, international organizations. Illustrates approaches to the typification and classification of countries of the world. Reveals the geography of the world's natural resources, the population and settlement of the countries of the world, the formation and structure of the world economy. Gives a socio-geographical description of Europe (subregions and countries of the West, East, North, South), Asia (subregions and countries of the Central, East, South-East, West), America (subregions and countries of the North, South), Africa (subregions and countries Eastern, Northern, Southern, Western), Australia and New Zealand, Oceania: economic and geographical position, natural resource potential, population, features of the economy - primary, secondary and tertiary sectors. The functional block of the discipline involves the mastery of such components as the ability to apply basic knowledge of natural sciences in geographical activities, the ability to apply quantitative and qualitative methods in the study of territories, the ability to independently investigate the object of study.
