Learning outcomes
PRN 8. Evaluate historical heritage and the latest achievements of literary studies. PRN 9. Characterize the theoretical foundations (concepts, categories, principles, basic concepts, etc.) and applied aspects of the chosen philological specialization. PRN 10. Collect and systematize linguistic, literary, folklore facts, interpret and translate texts of various styles and genres (depending on the chosen specialization). PRN 11. Carry out a scientific analysis of language, speech and literary material, interpret and structure it taking into account appropriate methodological principles, formulate generalizations based on independently processed data. PRN 15. Choose optimal research approaches and methods for the analysis of specific linguistic or literary material.

Prerequisites and co-requisites
Successful mastering of literary disciplines at the first level of higher education. Knowledge of the history of the development of Korean literature from the earliest times to the beginning. 21st century and the history of world literature as a result of studying a complex of literary disciplines in the previous years of study. Proficiency in the Korean language at a high level, skills in working with original texts, skills in literary analysis of general and Korean literary terminology.
Course content
The course introduces students to the reasons for the appearance and patterns of development of the most important literary genres and trends in Korean literature beginning 21st century, their periodization, typological characteristics, connection with the literary traditions of the West, biographies of prominent literary figures.

Assessment methods and criteria
Based on the results of the student's work during the 1st semester, a credit is issued (on the condition of obtaining a minimum of 60 points). In the 2nd semester, semester work is evaluated - min. 36 points, max. 60 points and exam — min. 24 points, max. 40 points. A detailed description of the evaluation criteria is contained in the work program of the discipline.
