Course content
The geography of biodiversity is a component of the cycle of professional training of specialists in the field of geography, ecology, territorial management, management of natural resources, cartography. Knowledge of its main provisions is necessary for solving a wide range of tasks in nature management, nature protection, ecological monitoring, medical geography, human ecology, recreational geography, and others. The educational discipline is dedicated to the study of the history of the formation and content of the theoretical and methodological foundations of biogeographic research. Provides knowledge about: the history of the formation and development of the Earth's organic world; the main regularities of the distribution of living organisms, biocenoses, settlements, biogeocenoses on the planet and in the regions. Provides: understanding of ecological prerequisites and factors of distribution of "living matter"; the possibility of assimilating knowledge of the basics of chorology, patterns of distribution, configuration and dynamics of the areas of organisms and biocenoses. Get acquainted with: theoretical and methodological principles of biogeographical analysis of territories; principles and tasks of biogeographical classifications, zoning and zoning; regional flora, fauna, biomes.
