P01. Collect, process and analyze information in the field of earth sciences P07. Apply models, methods and data of physics, chemistry, biology, ecology, mathematics, information technologies, etc. when studying natural processes of formation and development of the pedosphere. P10. To analyze the composition and structure of the pedosphere on different spatial and temporal scales. P12. To know and apply theories, paradigms, concepts and principles in Earth sciences, in particular in the field of soil science. P15. Be able to choose optimal methods and tools for research, data collection and processing.

Topography is one of the main methods of objective knowledge and data visualization for metric and thematic mapping. The subject of the educational discipline is technical, software and hardware tools, techniques and methods of performing field filming, creating maps and plans based on the results of processing ground topographic surveys. The program of the academic discipline consists of the following content modules: Module 1. Basics of using topographic maps in solving scientific and practical problems. Module 2. Topographic and geodetic works necessary for creating topographic maps and plans.
