            PRS 25. To know the history of formation, development, main trends, currents, schools, genres and styles, prominent representatives of Korean literature of the XVIII-XIX centuries.

            Prerequisites and co-requisites
        
        
            Successful completion of courses: "Literature of the Ancient East: patterns of formation and development", "Oral and ancient Eastern literature", "Medieval Eastern literature", "Korean literature of the 18th-19th centuries". Knowledge of the theoretical foundations of general literary studies; knowledge of the reasons for the appearance and patterns of development of the most important literary genres and literary directions of classical Korean literature from the earliest times to the kin. XIX century, their periodization, typological characteristics, connection with the literary traditions of the West, biographies of prominent literary figures. Possession of textbooks of literary analysis.
        
    
            Course content
        
        
            The purpose of the course is to provide students who already have basic knowledge of the history of Korean classical literature with an idea of the Korean artistic word from the earliest times to the beginning. 20th century, about its connection with the specifics of Korean culture and worldview. The course introduces students to the typological features and pragmatic purpose of literary genres in the native language of different eras, focuses on the perception of the classical Chinese literary tradition by Korean writers, on the search for the specificity of the Korean worldview expressed through Chinese artistic means.
