Learning outcomes
PRS 7. To understand the main problems of philology and approaches to their solution using appropriate methods and innovative approaches. PRS 8. To know and understand the language system, the general properties of literature as an art of speech, the history of the Korean language and literature, and to be able to apply this knowledge in professional activities. PRS 12. To analyze language units, determine their interaction and characterize language phenomena and processes that cause them. PRS 15. To carry out linguistic, literary and special philological analysis of texts of various styles and genres. PRS 16. To know and understand the basic concepts, theories and concepts of the chosen philological specialization, to be able to apply them in professional activities. PRS 17. To cCollect, analyze, systematize and interpret the facts of language and speech and use them to solve complex problems and problems in specialized areas of professional activity and/or learning.

Prerequisites and co-requisites
knowledge of basic terms and concepts of general linguistics. Basic knowledge of the Korean language.
Course content
The goal of the discipline is to contribute to the formation of a system of knowledge regarding the main stages of the development of writing in the world and the general characteristics of Korean hieroglyphic writing; learn a set of concepts related to the specificity of the graphic features of Korean writing in order to form the necessary professional competences of students, future Korean specialists capable of solving complex specialized tasks and practical problems, as well as carrying out analytical and prognostic research.
