Learning outcomes
PRS 7. Understand the main problems of philology and approaches to their solution using appropriate methods and innovative approaches. PRS 8. Know and understand the language system, the general properties of literature as an art of speech, the history of the Korean language and lit-re, and to be able to apply this knowledge in professional activities. PRS 9. Characterize the dialectal and social varieties of the Korean language, describe the sociolinguistic situation. PRS 12. Analyze linguistic units, determine their interaction and characterize linguistic phenomena and processes that cause them. PRS 15. Carry out linguistic, literary and special philological analysis of texts of various styles and genres. PRS 16. Know and understand the basic concepts, theories and concepts of the chosen philol. specialization, to be able to apply it. PRS 17. Collect, analyze, systematize and interpret the facts of language and speech and use them to solve complex problems.

Prerequisites and co-requisites
Knowledge of basic terms and concepts of general linguistics. Basic knowledge of the Korean language.
Course content
The purpose of the discipline is to contribute to the formation of a system of knowledge regarding the main features of the lexical composition of the Korean language; to learn a set of concepts related to the specificity of word-forming, semasiological and onomasiological features of the Korean language in order to form the necessary professional competences of students, future specialists in Korean studies, capable of solving complex specialized tasks and practical problems, as well as carrying out analytical and prognostic research.
