Learning outcomes
pragmatic competence: to prepare students for natural foreign language communication in oral and in written forms according to the rules of interaction accepted in society, and choosing appropriate linguistic and extralinguistic means; sociocultural competence as part of general and professional personality culture: to form intercultural and transcultural consciousness of the future specialist as a component of his professional and creative preparation for professional activities; strategic competence: to reveal to masters the potential of the English language as an opportunity independent expansion of one's own English-speaking competences with specialties; professionally oriented communicative competence: to develop students' ability to use existing professional skills, knowledge and skills for solving general professional tasks in English, like: writing an abstract, report, presentation presentations on a scientific topic, etc.

Prerequisites and co-requisites
A prerequisite for studying the discipline is the successful passing of the EVI test master's degree in English, and, as a result, the ability to operate knowledge and skills previously formed during the study of a foreign language (English) at the B2 level in accordance with the All-European recommendations of of Language Education (CEFR).
Course content
"Foreign language for academics goals" belongs to the list of mandatory disciplines for master's students of the first year of study at the Institute of High Technologies and is a component of the educational and professional program of training specialists by educational and qualification level "Master". It ensures the personal and professional development of the applicants. Proposed content parts of the academic discipline and educational the material of the practical classes correspond to the level of knowledge of the educational students programs of fields of knowledge 10 Natural sciences and agreed with the educational part of the Institute of High Technologies.

I\II semester 1 Oral individual and frontal survey (5 topics) – 10 points / 2 points for each. 2 Abstract of a scientific article (2 articles) – 10 points / 5 points for each. 3 Presentation (2) – 10 points / 5 points for two presentations. 4 SRS: tasks in a professional direction (professional article, different types of questions, including questions of higher thinking activity) – 20 points / 10 points for each block tasks 5 Modular control work - 10 points.
