Learning outcomes
PRS 5. To cooperate with colleagues, representatives of other cultures and religions, adherents of different political views, etc.
PRS 7. To understand the main problems of philology and approaches to their solution using appropriate methods and innovative approaches.
PRS 13. To analyze and interpret works of Ukrainian and Korean fiction and oral folk art, determine their specificity and place in the literary process.
PRS 15. To carry out linguistic, literary and special philological analysis of texts of various styles and genres.
PRS 22. To apply knowledge about historical and literary contacts between the countries of the East and the West in professional activities.

Prerequisites and co-requisites
Successful completion of courses: "Ukraine and the East: historical connections", "Ancient literature". Knowledge of the theoretical foundations of general literary studies, the main directions and genres of European literature, key historical events in Korea and the world. Possession of literary terminology.
Course content
The course introduces students to works of Western literature by Sir. THEM to the beginning 20th century, which contain descriptions of Korea, emphasizes the analysis of Korean images as imaginary constructions and stereotypes, forms an understanding of the influence of extra-literary factors on the literary process, introduces the methods of literary imagology, develops scientific research skills.
