Learning outcomes
PLO 5. To find optimal ways for effective interaction in the professional community and with representatives of other professional groups at various levels. PLO 6. To use knowledge on expressive, emotive, logical language means and speech techniques in order to achieve an intended pragmatic result and organize successful communication. PLO 13. To explain the essence of both specific linguistic issues and one’s point of view and its justification to experts and laypeople in an accessible and argumentative manner, particularly to individuals who are studying. PLO 14. To create, analyze, and edit texts of various genres and styles.

Prerequisites and co-requisites
The course "Rhetoric: Linguistic Aspects" requires knowledge of the Swedish language at a level not lower than B2 in accordance with the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages and is based on the language knowledge and communication skills of students acquired during the study of practical and theoretical courses in the fSwedish language.
Course content
The course "Rhetoric: Linguistic Aspects" includes lectures and practical classes. During lectures, students get acquainted with the history and theory of rhetoric, master its terminological apparatus. In practical classes, the ability of students to effective oral and written communication is trained, as well as the ability to analyze and evaluate messages of a persuasive or manipulative nature. The course includes a significant number of oral exercises, which involve both prepared and spontaneous communication.

Planned learning activities and teaching methods
Learning activities: lectures, practical classes, independent work. Teaching methods: explanatory and illustrative method, method of problem-based learning (problem-based lecture), preparation, holding and discussion of speeches, scientific discussions, creative and analytical tasks.
Assessment methods and criteria
Current assessment: test, speech, speech analysis. Final assessment - credit. Evaluation criteria for each form of control are given in the course program.
