Learning outcomes
PLO 7. To analyze, compare and classify different trends and schools in Linguistics. PLO 9. To characterize theoretical principles (concepts, categories, principles, basic concepts, etc.) and applied aspects of the chosen linguistic specialization. PLO 11. To carry out a scientific analysis of language, speech and literary material, interpret and structure it taking into account appropriate methodological principles, formulate generalizations based on independently processed data.

Prerequisites and co-requisites
The course "Modern Scandinavian Linguistic Research" requires prior knowledge of the Swedish language at a level not lower than B2 in accordance with the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages, as well as basic theoretical knowledge of the history and theory of the Swedish language.
Course content
The course "Modern Scandinavian Linguistic Research" includes lectures and seminars. During lectures, students get acquainted with current topics and problems of linguistic research and the research infrastructure in Sweden and other Scandinavian countries, in particular with institutions and organizations engaged in conducting linguistic research or supporting it (Svenska Akademien, Institutet för språk och folkminnen, Svenska institutet) with the project Språkbanken Text and the tools and resources developed within it. At seminar classes, the knowledge gained during the lecture part of the course is deepened by preparing reports on individual aspects and discussing them.

Planned learning activities and teaching methods
Learning activities: lectures, seminars, independent work. Teaching methods: explanatory and illustrative method, method of problem-based learning (problem lecture), research method, preparation and discussion of presentations based on the results of scientific research, scientific discussions, creative and analytical tasks.
Assessment methods and criteria
Current assessment: test, presentation (report), creative and analytical tasks. Final assessment - credit. Evaluation criteria for each form of control are given in the course program.
