Learning outcomes
PLO 2. To demonstrate an adequate level of mastery of national and foreign languages to perform written and spoken communication, namely in the situations of professional and academic communication; to present the results of their studies in these national and foreign languages. PLO 3. To apply modern methods and techniques, namely informational, in order to perform successful and effective professional activity and guarantee the quality of research in a specific linguistic field. PLO 6. To use knowledge on expressive, emotive, logical language means and speech techniques in order to achieve an intended pragmatic result and organize successful communication. PLO 10. To collect and systematize facts of language and literature, to interpret and translate texts of various styles and genres (depending on the chosen specialization). PLO 14. To create, analyze, and edit texts of various genres and styles.

Prerequisites and co-requisites
The course "Translation of Professional Texts from Swedish" in the first semester of the master's program requires knowledge of the Swedish language at a level not lower than B2 in accordance with the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages, and is also based on theoretical and practical knowledge and translation skills acquired by students during the study of translation studies courses at the bachelor's degree.
Course content
The course "Translation of Professional Texts from Swedish" covers practical classes. In practical classes, the practical skills of translating professional texts from Swedish to Ukrainian and from Ukrainian to Swedish are developed. At the same time, special attention is paid to the search and selection of the correct terminological counterparts, to the use of technical means for the Swedish-Ukrainian translation. Students also get acquainted with the theory of translation of specialized texts, branches of specialized translation, terminology. Considerable attention is paid to the review of terminological work in Sweden and Ukraine, terminological databases and their use in Swedish-Ukrainian translation.

Planned learning activities and teaching methods
Learning activities: practical classes, independent work. Teaching methods: heuristic method, analysis and solution of problem situations, educational discussion, performance of individual tasks for translation of texts.
Assessment methods and criteria
Current assessment: checking of written translations, oral survey, criticism and editing of translations. The final assessment is an exam. Evaluation criteria for each form of control are given in the course program.
